Deep in the giantess's cave, Búkolla speaks — and together they slip into the night, with the giantess close behind. As she gains on them, Búkolla teaches the boy an old trick: three ordinary things thrown over her shoulder, becoming a forest, a lake, and a wall of fire, buying just enough time to reach safety.
